“The role of the Church is to cultivate people who can risk being peaceful in a violent world, being kind in a competitive society, being faithful in an age of cynicism, being gentle among those who admire tough, and who love when it may not be returned.” (Hauerwas, in Against the Nations) I find it hard to see a link between Hauerwas's (admittedly lofty) description of the Church and Christian Nationalism. Rather, those two entities appear to be diametrically opposed in both function and goal.

A classic case of "If you're not with us you're against us and with them." I've run into this in Baptist circles, and now it's being leveled against Stanley and MacIntyre.
